Chill Drinks
Freeze ice in plastic bags & pop bags into punch bowl.

Unlock padlocks without key
Use a shim cut from alu can. Slip into the outer edge & wiggle it around.

Eggs

Separate eggs: use small pet bottle.

Peel boiled eggs - remove a small bit of shell from small end, and large bit at large end. Blow thru.

Use large onion rings as molds for fried eggs.

Hanjuka eggs: Boil r/temp eggs 6 - 6.5 mins (add some vinegar & prick egg bottoms to prevent leakage). Water should cover at least 2/3 of egg. Roll around occasionally for even cooking. Cool in iced bath 6 mins. To shell, squeeze gently. Steep in sauce 3h. Sauce: 3 slice ginger, 2 cloves smashed water, 50cc soy sauce, 1T Shaoxing wine, 1T oyster sauce , 1T honey, 200cc water. Boil 1 min.

Onsen egg: Place eggs in thermal container, pour in boiling water to cover eggs, close & steep 8m. 

Peel Potato
Place boiled potatoes in iced bath. Score skin around the middle & pull apart.  Can do the same with orange.

Emergency Light
Strap a head flash-light and fasten it around a large plastic milk bottle filled with water, light towards water.

No-tears onions
Chew Gun while slicing onions to prevent tears.

Pomegranate
Cut in half & use a paddle or big spoon to tap out the grains

Light candle
Use a spagetti stick.

Watermelon
To cube, first cut into quarters.  Make 1" slices downwards, then 1" slices at 45 deg angles on the left, then on the right. slice away the rind.

Recipe book in kitchen
Use a clothes hanger with double clips to pin the book to and hang it over the cupboard door.

Stand chip bag
Fold bottom of bag inwards to create a stable base.

Smooth pours
Pour from juice cartons the opposite way people normally pour, so that air flow into carton is smooth.

Dorm room tricks
- Stack beer bottles on sides on rack in fridge, stopped by a clip at the edge so the bottles don't roll over. Wrap in wet paper towels to hasten cooling.

- Prolong bananas by wrapping cling wrap around the stem

- Amplify mobile alarm by placing in glass

- Mont blanc pen hack - use MB refills on G2 casings

- Save wardrobe space by using 2-hole ring tabs to link wired hangers together.



Easy Peel Boiled Eggs
